Edgehill Civic Association meeting–>NOVEMBER 17, 6pm!

Hello current, past, and future Edgehill Civic Association members!!!

News for you, your household, and neighbors:

1. The November neighborhood clean-up for 11/7 has been cancelled. Despite Mr. Wheeler’s best efforts, we are sorry to announce the City does not have sufficient resources to assist us this fall. This is disappointing as we have enjoyed this initiative biannually for many years under the helm of Mr. Wheeler. We hope to have better luck next spring! Until then, the City requests us to use/download the SeeClickFix website/app, or tap the MPACT button on Richmond City’s webpage (www.richmondgov.com) to request a bulk pick up. They are behind, and it may take 3-6 weeks. Another option is to transport your bulk trash to the Southside Transfer Station at 3520 N. Hopkins Rd.

🍁Leaf collection is scheduled for: 11/30-12/11/15. See more here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzdNpNUMH5DpRHFaTGdnUGlOX1ktaFViZ3ZDV2luRjdEQjc4/view?usp=sharing

2. Please attend our next meeting November 17, 6pm, at the Resurrection Lutheran Church, 2500 Seminary Ave. Bring a new neighbor! Lieutenant Manns will be present to give us a crime report. BikeWalk Northside will speak about traffic calming and street safety. Mr. Watkins will report on signage options for ECA to notify residents of upcoming meetings/events. If you haven’t done so yet, please mail your annual dues to ECA Financial Secretary, 2622 Northumberland Ave, 23220. Make checks payable to Edgehill Civic Association. Dues are $25/household or $15/retiree, not to exceed $25/household. Be sure to list all household members with their e-mail/contact information. Your attendance and dues go a LONG way in seeing our initiatives (eg the Block Party, welcome baskets, new signs) come to fruition! And, as members you will continue to benefit from these e-mail announcements as move toward paperless.

3. Thefts from motor vehicles in Sector 412 continue to rise and are up 50% from last year. Please read the following post from the Nextdoor website written by Lt. Manns which explains the uptick: https://virginiaunion.nextdoor.com/news_feed/?post=17422390. .

🚓Several arrests have been made, but this type of crime is preoccupying our Police Department. Let’s help by following the listed tips and reporting any suspicious activity/persons using the non-emergency line at 804-646-5100 and/or contact Lt. Manns at KeShawn.Manns@richmondgov.com.

4. Use our Facebook page or Nextdoor app/website to give and receive up-to-date information on events/concerns/questions/meetings/announcements around Edgehill and beyond. So far, 48 of your neighbors have joined our Facebook page 40 have joined Nextdoor. Our website has ECA-specific information too. Please use these resources to stay abreast between ECA meetings.
