A message from our President

Happy Memorial Day weekend!  I hope you enjoyed our last meeting– we had a great turnout and it was inspiring to hear from so many of you who are willing to pitch in and make our community even better!  I am forwarding some information we discussed during the meeting…
1.  Please plan to attend the Candidate Forum for our upcoming mayoral election this fall.

{Richmond Community High School and Brookland Park Area Association will host a Candidate Forum [on June 7, 2016] from 6:30 – 8:30 PM, in the Richmond Community High School auditorium.As the City prepares for November elections, this is an opportunity to hear directly from Mayoral candidates, and 3rd and 6th District School Board and City Council candidates on their plans for Northside and the community, at large.The forum is being conducted to allow the specific concerns of the 3rd and 6th district constituency to be addressed, including crime, education, rezoning and new construction, among other things. With such a large voting bloc, Northside residents are asking to be heard by all applicable candidates.Doors open at 5:30 pm to welcome the Northside RVA community and Richmond residents, at large.}

3.  The Block Party is scheduled for August 13.  Those of you who have volunteered, I will be sending out an invitation in a few weeks for a planning meeting.  If you’d like to help in anyway, please reach out to me!

4.  Moving forward, please reach out to our new President, Mr. Harris Wheeler, with any concerns, ideas, or news!  He can be reached by phone (best option) at 321-1909 or via e-mail at harrisrwheeler@gmail.com.
Once again, it was my pleasure to lead our group as your President over the last 2 years– I’m looking forward to staying on the Executive Board as the Corresponding Secretary.
Be safe this weekend, and always,
Danene Brown
