A message from Fire Station 14

Fire Station 14 is hosting an open house on October 22, 2016 from 12pm to 5pm. This event is open to the public. It is a chance to showcase 14’s fire station, fire trucks and also show the equipment that is used on a daily basis. There will also be a fire prevention trailer where citizens can learn firsthand information regarding fire safety. There will be a bouncy house and entertainment for the kids and food to eat as well. This is also a great way to celebrate fire prevention month and meet your neighborhood firefighters. In addition, there will be a car seat safety booth for those who wants their car seat inspected. So please join us!

District Meeting tonight (7/28/16)

A message from our City Council Liaison:

Good Afternoon Northside District 3 Residents and Friends

When they say, “Don’t mess with Mother Nature”, they mean it. On Monday the midday high was 106º. On yesterday evening there was a spectacular lightning storm with the results that we don’t like but we are quickly becoming accustomed to seeing.

Many parts of Richmond, including Northside District 3 again experienced downed trees and power outages. Thankfully it was not as widespread or as devastating as our June storm. While it was very dark along Brook Road corridor due to a downed tree, it was good to see the quick response from Richmond Police, DPU and Dominion Power.

Dominion reports, “Later today, every customer will have an individual estimated time of restoration available when they contact us through their mobile device at www.dom.com or by phone at 1-866-DOM-HELP (866-366-4357).”
I will ask you to remain patient while power to our area is being restored and street lights, traffic lights and home power is being restored. Be mindful of the heat, check on your neighbors, especially the elderly or those who are disabled. Be careful as you travel – if the traffic lights are out at an intersection, TREAT IT AS A FOUR WAY STOP SIGN.

Don’t forget our District Meeting tonight at the North Avenue Branch of the Richmond Public Library. 2901 North Avenue. 6PM.

Thanks and Stay COOL!!!
